Nail Clipper Campaign

Global Arts and Education, Inc., has joined forces with Sirona Cares Foundation, and the Haitian Health Foundation to secure nail clippers for distribution in Haiti.  More children are dying from the bacteria under their nails than from contaminated water.  As Haiti continues to rebuild we are doing our part to save their future.

As Haiti struggles to rebuild - Haitian families struggle to survive.

The leading cause of children?s death in Haiti is diarrhea caused more often by hygiene issues than bad water.  Without running water, proper sanitation, or eating utensils, dirty nails can lead to death.

A set of nail clippers which costs only a few cents will save five children's lives once in the hands of mothers and care givers throughout Haiti.

Once we achieve our goal, the Haitian Health Foundation will distribute the clippers to families in Haiti.

100% of your tax-deductible donation goes toward the purchase and shipment of clippers.

With the rainy season now upon the people of Haiti, it is even more critical that this simple item get into the hands of mothers caring for children in tent cities and makeshift housing.

Make your donation today.  For every $5.00 you contribute 50 lives will be saved.

“Bette Gebrian, PhD, Haitian Health Foundation Director of Public
Health, refers a child to one of HHF’s health agents for treatment.”
“The first cause of death of children in Haiti is from dehydration due to
diarrhea, with the second from respiratory infection—both conditions that
are directly related to hygiene. Hand washing and keeping nails short
with regular clipping from infancy onward will prevent the deaths of
thousands of children. Your gift of nail clippers to young families is one of
the simple tools for a healthy generation of Haitian children.”
—Bette Gebrian, PhD, Director of Public Health, Haitian Health Foundation

“Sirona Cares can only be change makers because we receive so much
support from other like-minded people.  Without our volunteers, without
our donors, without our partners we would accomplish nothing.  By
working with our Haitian partners to create jobs, we give them the ability
to care for the children of the community in the years to come.”
—Michelle Lacourciere, Sirona Cares Foundation

“When I wake each morning, I know I have a food, shelter, and access to
good health.  I will not rest knowing that none of these are available to the
people of Haiti.  If something so simple as nail clippers will save the life of
a child, I have a responsibility to get these nail clippers to Haiti – and I
won’t rest until its done.”
